2025 Review

The general idea this year was to make and do things. I didn't do or make enough things for me to call it a success.

Health

I tried to stick to a diet and created an exercise habit but I lost no weight. I lost some during the year, but I yo-yoed back every time.

My general solution is that I need to be clearer and more radical about my diet. I'll share more details in my plan for 2026.

Productivity

I started more projects than I planned to do this year, and I haven't finished any of the ones that matter. I feel like I was more productive in terms of the sheer amount of hours I've put in, but it wasn't directed where I wanted. Most of the projects will be moved to next year but I will be cancelling some of them.

I can't promise to not start any more projects but I will be quitting freelancing next year. That should give me enough time to do what matters.

Programming

I ended up learning more programming languages this year. Ruby and Rust to be specific. These got in the way of my goals for this year but I still learned a lot so it's not all bad.

I'll be more brief in my language exploration next year and I won't use them for any projects.

Relationships

My modus operandi here has improved. I met a lot of cool people and I've made some new friends as well. Romantically, as my people would say, "It ended in tears". And no, I will not elaborate.

I'm going to chill on looking for a romantic partner and just focus on nurturing my current relationships. If one comes along, if not, that's fine too.

Money

My income more than doubled this year so I'm happy about that, but I ended up spending a lot more money than last year. I haven't officially started my business though. I bought the domain so that's something at least. Expect more info about it soon.

Other skills

This was the weakest part of the year for me. The other skills all took a backseat because I had other pressing matters to deal with. I am currently working on some design projects and I've practiced guitar a few times as well but not enough for it to matter.

To fix this, I'm going to stop working on weekends. When I was freelancing, everyday was a workday. Didn't even matter if it was a national holiday. I'll be going back to regular weekends so that I can use them to practice other skills and enjoy some hobbies.

Conclusion

This was a good year. Better than last year for sure but it doesn't feel that way.

I hope I feel differently next year.
